(Weight-Watchers-Recipes) I am a new member

Hello everyone,

I am a new member in the forum. Although i am not in the Weight Watchers program but I am interested to know information and how the program work. I joined a few groups in Yahoo and I love the feedback that i get from other members that have the same interest such as weight loss. When I go to the grocery store I am diligently about labels with food. I look at carbs, protein, fat, sodium level in some foods. I also go to the gym almost every day. I work the treadmill or elliptical machine and use the arm machines and free weights. Yet, the last time i went to the doctor i was soo disgusted about the weight. I know that everyone say to me that muscles burn more calories that fat. I am aware of that fact and I want to see the scale move as well. I did lost inches because the pants are looser and I feeling good about that. What can I do as far as work-outs, foods that i should incorporate in my diet that I am not aware of. Thank you.

(Weight-Watchers-Recipes) Slow Cooker Sun-Dried Tomato and Caper Pasta Sauce - 1 pt; 18g Carbohydrate; 4g Dietary Fiber

Slow Cooker Sun-Dried Tomato and Caper Pasta Sauce - 1 pt; 18g Carbohydrate; 4g Dietary Fiber

Recipe By :
Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00
Categories : Condiment LowCal (Less than 300 cals)
LowerCarbs LowFat (Less than 20%)
Vegan

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
5 fresh tomatoes -- chopped
8 garlic cloves -- chopped
1 medium onion -- minced
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, oil-packed -- drained and rinsed
2 tablespoons capers -- drained
1/2 cup frozen peas
To serve: cooked pasta to serve 4 people -- (I used 1 pound of Trader Joe's brown rice penne)
-- fresh parmesan cheese (optional)

Use a 6-quart slow cooker.

Put the tomatoes, garlic, and onion in your stoneware. Add the Italian seasoning. Add 1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes in the crock. Chop up the remaining 1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes, and add. Stir in capers.

Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.

Stir in frozen peas, if using, 20 minutes before serving.

Toss with hot cooked pasta, and garnish with shredded Parmesan cheese, if desired.

Serves 4

This is a wonderful recipe to use if you have a tomato surplus in your garden, and are looking to make something other than the tractional marinara.... The tart bite from the sun-dried tomatoes and capers turned a boring pasta dinner into a pretty exciting meal.
