1/2 head red cabbage -- shredded
1 medium onion -- shredded
1 1/2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon butter
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon thyme
Place all the ingredients into a 4-quart slow cooker. Stir to distribute all ingredients evenly.
Cook on low for 4-6 hours or until the cabbage is very soft. Stir before serving.
